Join Prevent Child Abuse Sonoma County (PCA-SC) in welcoming Michael Williams as he presents "Responding to Trauma: Professional and Personal Reflection and Action". Times of trauma bring new levels of stress and complication, but also opportunities to connect and respond more effectively to the ongoing trauma and adversity faced by the families and communities we serve. Applying principles outlined by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration and learning activities developed by Strategies 2.0, participants will identify opportunities to respond more effectively to trauma in their communities, their organizations, and themselves.
Michael Williams is Strategies 2.0 Director for Northern California. He has worked in human services management and organizational development for more than 20 years in the disability services, childcare, and child welfare fields. His MSW degree from San Francisco State University focused on policy and community development. Michael's work is informed and inspired by his personal experience as a parent in foster, adoption, and blended family contexts.
