CPI Class Overview

CPI offers classes to parents of children ages 0-18. Each class is led by a trained parent educator who provides tools that parents can adapt to their own family's needs. All CPI classes have a strong child development foundation, supporting the belief that each child and parent brings unique needs and temperament to family life. Although many classes are held at the Parent Education Center in southwest Santa Rosa, others are conveniently located throughout Sonoma County.

Classes include Guiding your Toddler and Preschooler, Positive Parenting.

Cost is per person unless otherwise indicated. Unless noted parents DO NOT attend with child. Childcare is not provided and children may not be left unattended. Classes are held at our Parent Education Center, 3642 Standish Ave, Santa Rosa, CA.

If you prefer to register over the phone, please call (707) 585-6108 x1240 and have your credit card information ready. Payment in full is required for registration.

These forums are free of charge and are designed specifically for parents who have lost their homes to the recent fires. It is fine to attend any or all of them. No advance registration is required.

This forum will provide:

1. Information about normal post-disaster behaviors you might observe in your children

2. Strategies for parenting your children through their recovery from the fires

3. Red flags: When to seek outside help

4. An opportunity to share feelings/questions/information about parenting issues that might be arising subsequent to the fires. What seems to be helping your children to cope? What parenting challenges would you like to ask about?

5. An opportunity for parents who have lost homes to connect with each other and bolster their own coping strategies

If you are in this situation, we hope you can join us.

Mental Health Services for Children 0-5

While the North Bay Fires are behind us, some of our littlest community members still carry the emotional scars from the experience. Child Parent Institute is providing therapeutic services for families of young children ages 0-5 who are struggling with changes over the past year.

The mental health services we offer support both the needs of the young child and the co-occurring needs of their parent or caregiver. This two part approach is available to address the parent’s trauma and grief responses as well as problematic behaviors that may be exhibited by the child.

To learn more, please call (707) 585-6108. Currently, services are only available in English.
