Child Psychological Maltreatment — Finally a Line in the Sand to Guide Responsible and Effective Societal Intervention • Recorded April 8, 2026
Child psychological maltreatment (PM), also known as emotional abuse and neglect, mental violence, and emotional maltreatment, may be the least recognized and addressed of the four major forms of child maltreatment though being more prevalent and of equal or greater destructiveness than the others. This webinar provides the history of PM, an overview of the current state of knowledge, and a vision for advancing progress in addressing this form of child maltreatment. Case studies were presented to illustrate the concept.
