Child Parent Institute is offering an evening training on Thursday, August 22nd, 2019, for resource families. The training will discuss Foster Care Education Law and help parents and caregivers learn how to advocate for foster children at school.

About Our Speaker: In 2012, Debra Sanders began working for Sonoma County Office of Education as the Education Liaison for youth in foster care or experiencing homelessness. In this role, Debra provides support to the county’s 40 school districts, as well as to social workers, families, and youth. This role provides a unique opportunity for Debra to draw on the technical expertise gained during two decades as an educator while also building relationships with people from a broad cross section of the community.
