Comprehensive, psychological assessment is available to current counseling clients. Our staff psychologists and psychology trainees use standardized testing measures to identify a child’s cognitive and socio-emotional strengths and weaknesses. Psychological assessment is helpful in clarifying presenting symptoms, diagnoses, and in formulating treatment goals. Short, screening measures and questionnaires are also used in our programs to help with treatment planning and evaluating treatment outcomes. Additionally, CPI treatment providers can make referrals to outside agencies such as school districts for educational testing, as appropriate.
Psychiatry and Medication Support
Medi-Cal beneficiaries who are active clients in our counseling program are eligible for psychiatric evaluations and medication monitoring by our staff psychiatrist. Our staff psychiatrist provides medical consultation and education about the risks and benefits of psychopharmacological intervention and may recommend medication to support your child’s treatment. Additionally, CPI treatment providers can make referrals to and consult with outside physicians or psychiatrists, as appropriate.
For more information about psychological and psychiatric support services, and to discuss whether or not these might benefit your child, please contact your child’s treating therapist or Casandra McGee, LMFT, Clinic Supervisor, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Psychological assessment and psychiatry services are only available to clients currently participating in our counseling program.
